Sometimes you just have to mix a little sax solo into your metal. Good for the skin. Listen to Morphine!

Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 1:46PM Hey all. Just thought I'd offer a little synopsis of what's been happening in the Colepitz camp... And where we are headed.
December '09, band went into John Wyman's studios in Windham, Maine to record our first full length album since 1999. When you go in to the studio as a musician, there are many levels of success. Do the songs make sense, are the arrangements any good or are we able to get down on tape what's in our heads. It's a great feeling when all of those elements somehow manage to come together and you get that 'lightning in a bottle' moment. As musicians, we all feel like we did our jobs technically and are all really proud of the recordings. Does that translate into a music fan actually connecting with the thing? Who knows, right? All we can do is our jobs as musicians the best we can and let it happen from there.
Next we wanted to make sure in our first effort back, that the sound production is the very best. That is why we went with Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering in Portland. Having a good historical relationship between John and Adam, we really hoped that synergy would translate. It did. I really couldn't believe how great the final product sounded. Sonically, our goal was to be able to put it up against any album in my car cd player and have it be able to stand up. That was definitely accomplished. The warmth and tambre of the record is killer.
So what's next is, how do we get it into your ears? Well, we are working on it. We do have old and new relationships to explore in the industry, and decisions to make on how and when to release it. We do hope to be able to post at least one new song very soon.
In the meantime, be well and keep listening to independent rock and metal!

Monday, November 23, 2009 at 2:12PM Wow, what a night. Absolutely a huge success, we played in front of a packed room at the Empire, received a TON of great feedback, sold all the cds we had and a large portion of our tee shirts, then rocked out watching Lost On Liftoff. Many thanks to all the musicians, music fans and longtime Colepitz fans who came out to hang.
Video and pics coming soon!
T-shirts available for sale!

Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1:18PM We really feel that independent artists should work together to help each other get their messages out there for people to see. So we are commissioning work from Zachary Howard at The Empennage for posters/tee shirts for this Fall's shows as well as Troy Morgan who is going to help with some video/film concepts. Zach is quickly becoming well known as one of the most innovative screen printers and artists in New England, and Troy is a hidden gem of an animator living in Los Angeles with a slew of Film Festival awards under his belt already after only 3 published animated shorts.
We have met with these artists, discussed our new music at length and believe they deeply understand the direction we are heading in creatively. What we are doing, as we are already doing with Max Leon, is after these meetings giving them free reign to artistically interpret what our band and music represent to them in their accordant medium.
What we anticipate happening this Fall is posters, tees from Zach, stage banners & scrims from Max. When we have our music completed in Decemeber, we may start looking at video treatments from Troy as well as an up and coming experimental film maker from Brooklyn, NY, Noah Singh. Then, in 2010 we are looking at an another very cool line of tees, posters, etc from all of the above.
Here is some of their work:

and you may have already seen this, but here's more from Max Leon via MortalityFigure.com

Here is the film portion of a sculpture piece by the young avant garde filmmaker, Noah Singh. He is very interested in working on a video for one of the new songs.
